The Village idiot in Cape Town

I visited The Village Idiot in Cape Town.

Of course, you can have a lot of fun going out in Cape Town. My favorite place to go out in Cape Town is The Village Idiot. I'd like to share my experience of this place.

Location of The Village Idiot in Cape Town

The location of The Village Idiot is in downtown Cape Town. It's very easy to arrange a taxi to go to the club at any time in Cape Town.

Is going out in Cape Town dangerous?

I personally find the nightlife in Cape Town sometimes dangerous. I am very small and I feel intimidated especially on the streets at night by many homeless people wandering around. There is a lot of begging for money, and from my experience, homeless people follow you for a long time at night. That's why I always make sure to be with others to go to a club in Cape Town. I also strongly recommend always walking with others at night, especially if you've had a drink.

Many of my friends have been robbed during a night out in Cape Town. Many phones have been stolen. It's good not to keep your phone loosely in your pocket. Keeping your phone in sight for a long time is also not a good idea. If you walk considerably drunk on the street, you are also a target. So don't do that.

My experience with The Village Idiot in Cape Town

At the entrance, there are guards where you definitely have to show your ID. What strikes me is that with a small amount, minors suddenly seem much older in the eyes of the guards... I am 24, but I think you have to be 18 years or older to enter the club. You then walk up the stairs where the bathroom can be found, and through the door, the bar is immediately on your left. So, a good route to walk haha.

For all techno lovers, I'm sorry, but no techno is played in this club. Why I like this club so much is because there is always music playing that everyone can sing along to. Many old-time bangers can be heard. The club slowly gets busier around 12/1 and everyone dances and chats with each other. There are also tables, but you can only sit at them if you've bought the table for the evening. From my experience, you really can't sit at that table either. However, I definitely advise against having a table for the evening. There is only dancing, and sitting is not something you can do peacefully there. If you want some rest, you can go outside. There are tables here, and you can always find a place to catch your breath.

Do you also know a club in Cape Town where bangers are played that you can sing along to and dance to? Please let me know. I have to go there! Who knows, maybe we'll see each other there. (:
